So much social media, so little time

Hey gang!

So, if you didn’t catch the original airing of my segment on The Dr. Oz Show, I guess you’re outta luck because the show doesn’t give clips to guests. I emailed the media editor and she said they are only allowed to put up so many clips on the website and unfortunately mine didn’t make the cut and they were unable to provide me with a clip. Womp womp. I’m disappointed but there’s not a lot I can do about it. You might be able to search your local listings and see if they rerun episodes at odd times of the day. The bright side is that you can catch Emily’s segment on the website – she gives some great advice on how to deal with insecurities. I think in the clip Strategies to Overcome Your Insecurities you can see a shot of me listening intently and nodding my head.

Am deep and serious thinker… pensive and astute.  Also other intelligent and scholarly words.

In other news, The Sassy Pear Blog is now on Twitter! Because ahead of the times is what I am. So head on over there and follow me and let me follow you because I need some more folks to follow. I had a personal Twitter account a while back, but I mostly just read other people’s tweets and now…well I guess I still do that. I don’t like to be held to only 140 characters – I have too many deep and serious and pensive and astute things to say. Bah!

I’m wondering if I need a Facebook page for this blog? Isn’t that what bloggers do now? I figure if you want to hear what I have to say, you’ll come here, but I could be wrong. This blog has never been about building a brand – it’s only ever been about having a place to unjumble my thoughts. But then also, I have lots of you who email me and tell me that you can really relate to my struggles so I want this to be a place where you can come and feel understood and maybe linking to a FB page would help more women find this place. So, I dunno. What do you guys think? Does The Sassy Pear need to be on The Face Book?

That’s all I have for now. Hope you’re having a great week!

  1. I don’t know if you need Facebook or not. I mean you could do one, but it won’t encourage me to visit your blog anymore than I already do. Wish I hadn’t missed you on Dr. Oz. Bummer that you don’t have any of the clips.

  2. It appears the Dr. Oz producers have lost sensitivity and basic courtesy. Not only do they neglect telling you in time but then make it impossible for your friends, family, and followers to watch. We were so excited for you! Of course we were! How could the Dr. Oz producers not understand that? I’m so sorry Jill. You deserve more respect than that.

    Love you, Jillith!

  3. Oh I am so bummed!! What Gina said. You’re being a super good sport about it but I’m gonna be pissed on your behalf. I know you were wonderful and open and fabulous as only you could be. Just wish I could have seen it myself. Big hugs.

  4. I still don’t know how Twitter works! Not gonna find out. But I see that some writers and bloggers seem to have an auto-announcement on FB that gives a teaser for the actual blog. I think that would be good, if you want your FB followers to know about your blog.

  5. I just followed you on Twitter. I’m going back to my 365FitJournal blog after a lackluster attempt at trying to get Squarespace going. I’m simply not meant to self host. As for Facebook, I can’t stand it. I have one but only for my kid’s school things.
