Hey Howdy Hey!

So, I took kind of an unintentional blogging break there, didn’t I? I hate it when I don’t blog for a month because now I have so many things I want to blog about but I’m overwhelmed and don’t know how to organize my disjointed thoughts into one cohesive post. Well, we’ll give it a go and see how it turns out.

First, what’s new: I started taking an iron supplement a few weeks ago and I think it is helping. I’m not nearly as tired as I was before – I don’t feel like I need a nap ALL THE TIME anymore, so that’s a plus! The supplement I take is this one. And it’s Non Constipating! Yay! (Haha!)

Also, my blood pressure has come down significantly since I started exercising regularly. Last November it was 143/83 and last week it was 118/75. That makes me really happy! It’s nice to see such tangible results from working out. I’ve gotten out of the habit since vacation, but I’m going to try a free fitness class being held in my community on Monday and Wednesday evenings. It’s sort of a laid back bootcamp-type class. I tried a bootcamp class once and it just wasn’t for me, but I’ve heard good things about this one – it’s family friendly and they encourage you to modify the exercises so they fit your level while still being a challenge. My kids have expressed an interest in going, so we’ll see how it goes. Also there is a weekly yoga class that I want to take but it doesn’t start until late August, and it’s 1.5 hours long – that sounds like total bliss to me!! 🙂 I’ll probably continue doing the Baladea videos too – I just have to make myself get up early in the a.m. and get it done.

As for the same old/same old: My weight is still staying steady – I guess I should be grateful I didn’t gain on vacation, but we did a TON of walking – I don’t think I’ve ever walked so much on one vacation before. I think all the walking kept me from gaining because even though my food choices weren’t off the wall crazy, they could have been a lot better. I’m still working with Amanda, bless her heart, but my weight loss is creeping along at a snail’s pace. It’s odd because I know I’m eating so much better and a lot less than I used to, but my weight just refuses to give. I’m eating more protein and veggies now, I’ve pretty much cut out any grazing between meals (it’s amazing how easy it is to track your food when you only eat 4 times a day!), my sugar intake is so much lower now – so why won’t the scale budge? I’ve made so much progress yet the visible results just aren’t there.

I’m at this weird place in my body image where on one hand, I’m frustrated that my weight is still as high as it is and I so badly want to be a smaller size, yet on the other hand I sort of believe that I can still be adorable even at this weight, so why fight it? It’s a strange place to be right now – this dichotomy of self image is hard to wrap my brain around. I’ll delve into this body image thing in a later post. I need to think about it some more.

I know there are other things I wanted to blog about, but of course now I can’t remember them. I should get back to work anyway, it took me all of last week to get caught up from vacation and I don’t want to get behind again.
