Challenge of the Day – Day 12

Today’s challenge is going to be to NOT TO LOSE MY FREAKING MIND!!!  I got the Christmas “I’ve still got so much to do, but zero time to do it” Blues, and I don’t know how I’m going to get it all done. Actually, I do – I gave my husband half of my list of To Do’s and tonight I’m going to finish my half of the list. I WILL GET IT DONE IF IT KILLS ME!!! Oh, and did I mention the lovely cold that has invaded my sinuses? Yeah, that’s one Christmas gift I could do without, thankyouverymuch.

Okay, the REAL challenge for today is…calm my stress with good foods that will energize me instead of succumbing to the siren song of the junk/comfort food.  I need to be especially good to myself over the next few days and unfortunately sugar isn’t going to help me do that, so I’ve already got a veggie-heavy meal planned for tonight and I’m guzzling water as well. My new favorite snack is an idea that I got from Debby – half an apple with Laughing Cow cheese shmeared on it topped with a sprinkling of walnuts. SO YUMMY!!!

  1. Ooh, I’m glad you like the apple snack–pure luxury, I think!

    I am bummed that you have a cold for Christmas, but try to think of the foods you choose as fuel to fight the cold.

    And you know what I think about the list. Eliminate your stress by crossing stuff off of it or just throwing it out. That won’t be very much fun if you kill yourself before Christmas….

  2. My challenge this week is to not cry. I’ve been up for 3 hours and have cried twice already.
    One odd look and I’m in tears. Which proves that I have officially fallen off my rocker…because I am normally the twice a year, someone died, new baby cryer.
    I can’t even post about it all, because my family who likes to laugh at all my posts would call the nice men in the white coats.
    My way of coping has been eating chocolate…and nothing else. 1200 calories a day is 1200 calories a day.
    You want to share a room in the nuthouse??

    1. I’d love to share a room! So sorry you’re having a hard time – just hang in there and if you have to eat a lot of chocolate to get through it, at least make sure it’s dark chocolate. That way at least you’ll be getting some antioxidants!! 😉

  3. Sweet! I think the nuthouse would be much funner with good company.
    For the record, I have been indulging in dark chocolate…it’s half of the Dove Peppermint Bark candy that I have become addicted to. Which, is almost gone. I went to the store last night and seriously hopped shelf to shelf trying to find them. I found ONE bag. I thought my husband was going to die laughing at me.
    I’m not sharing it.
    Thank you Jill and Debby for the sweet comments yesterday. I seriously needed them.
