Criss Cross Applesauce

If you’re like me, you think applesauce comes in two  flavors: sweetened and cinnamon.  Imagine my surprise when Mussleman’s contacted me and said they have some funky new flavors they wanted me to try.  Of course I said, heck yeah! and they sent me the cutest lil package of applesauce you ever did see!

See the red crinklies? How fun is that?!

I like applesauce okay, but the real applesauce connoisseurs in my house are the kiddos, so I let them try out the different flavors with me.  Here were our choices:  Raspberry Acai, Key Lime Cupaucu (kooPWOWsoo), and Blueberry Pomegranate. The overall consesus was a big thumbs up for all three!  Matthew and Mallory both really liked the Blueberry (and it does taste like blueberry!), Sarah’s favorite was the Raspberry Acai, and the one I like the best was the Key Lime.  Sarah put one in the freezer and let it get slushy and ate it like ice cream – that was fun!  I threw one in my lunch bag a couple of times and it was a good appetizer while my lunch was heating in the microwave.  I think these will be great to put in my kids’ lunches for school – good flavor and no added sugar = excellent choice.

Here’s some info that I was sent that tells a little more about the product:

  1. I want the applesauce, but I don’t want you to have to pay for the shipping this time!! I’m thinking they might be really great in smoothies (kinda like Sarah’s idea!)

Hey, have a great time on your week off!

  2. We’d love to try the applesauce! My kid is 12, and eats at least one a day, usually with medication in it (he doesn’t like taking pills). He loves blueberry, and I hadn’t thought about adding his favorite dried blueberries with the applesauce. He usually just adds cinnamon to his applesauce.
